Grok Bot vs Claude Max: which plan gives the best bang for your buck?

There's no single winner — it depends on how fast you burn through limits. Here's what people are reporting, and a calculator to plug in your own numbers.

The question everyone is asking

Has anyone ran the numbers of which Grok Bot plan gives the best bang for buck? Also with @grok @bot now serving Opus 5.5, i wonder if this combo could replace Claude Max 20x 🤔 Cursor $60 for GrokBot · Claude Max 5x $100 instead of $200

Where the limits bite

Simple things I do in Claude max, with grokbot I burn up all my credits. It's like one day of grok bot useage I feel I can do 5 days of fable level Claude usage.

grok @bot is a good implementation over agent orchestration, but the limits are so low 😭 how is a $30 sub running out so fast than a $20 one.

On the other side, people like the form factor: Grok Bot runs 24/7 on its own computer, handles admin and content, and can call other tools. A common pattern is Grok Bot for orchestration and everyday ops, Opus for heavy development (@ayayronstack).

How to decide (a simple framework)

  1. Measure, don't guess. For one week, note how many days your current plan lasts before you hit a limit.
  2. Convert to cost per productive day (price ÷ days you can actually work). That's the number to compare, not the sticker price.
  3. Price the combo. Many power users run two cheaper plans side by side (e.g. a Grok Bot plan plus a smaller Claude plan) instead of one top tier.
  4. Route heavy work deliberately — see 3 ways to combine Grok Bot with Opus 5.5.
